Jonathan has enjoyed many years as a professional actor and as a musician. His career began when he co-wrote, co-directed and starred in the play Alex which he went on to perform at the National Theatre. He had his screen debut in the Chemical Brothers music video,
Life Is Sweet
and went on to appear in three series of
Casualty (BBC1)
as staff nurse Sam Colloby. Following this initial success, he took leads in ITV dramas,
Reach for the Moon
and
A Dinner of Herbs
. His leading man status continued with roles in
The Knock
,
Merseybeat
,
Heartbeat,
NCIS
and is currently finishing work on
The Best Possible Taste
for BBC4 and feature film
Caught In Flight
. Jonathan has used his music in conjunction with his acting on several projects including writing and performing the theme music to
Merseybeat (BBC1)
and the feature film,
The Somnambilists.
He has also composed music for short films including,
Charlie and Talk
which won Best Overall short film at the 2001 Rushes Short Film Festival. His commissioned work for documentaries include,
The Menace of the Masses (BBC1),
Living Without A Memory (BBC1)
and
Batwomen of Panama (Fitz Productions).
