A total of 24 tracks penned by BDi writer Dan Bewick will appear throughout the hour-long show – which returns to screens for a fifth series on Saturday – and will then be broadcast for the US version of the show later this year.

The promotional idents, which will run before and after every Britain’s Got Talent commercial break on ITV1, were created with the collaboration of Dare, who created the current sponsorship campaign.

Already the tracks have been seeded online to help build a buzz for the start of the show and will be then be aired alongside the UK talent contest for the next 10 weeks.

The move is the latest in a series of composer collaborations for BDi – a joint venture with Bucks Music- and follows on from a contract renewal by Tesco for all the music written by Rachel Portman on their adverts and Sky Broadband commercial penned by Jonathan Goldstein.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase the writers on our roster and really helps to highlight the work that they do,” said Bucks head of creative Jonathan Tester. “When it comes to working for agencies, writers have to be able to compose something really quick as they expect an extremely fast turnaround on work.”

BDi managing director Sarah Liversedge added, “We are very proud of Dan’s achievement – BGT is such high profile in the UK - we are told that the idents will also accompany the US version in the UK which broadcasts after the UK version in the summer.”

Bewick has already written music for prime time shows including Undercover Princesses and The Justin Lee Collins show
