On the release of their debut album, the four-piece take our writer around Brighton

It’s telling how young The Magic Gang look, that when I first meet them, two of them are being ID’ed at the bar. “It happens all the time,” Paeris says wearily.

The four-piece are actually all in their early twenties, from the suitably baby faced Gus and Paeris (both 23), to Jack (24) and Kris (25). Millennials, we settle on, rather than Gen Z.

Moving from Bournemouth to Brighton, they knew each other in pairs from college - Jack and Kris, Paeris and Gus - meeting each other on Skype, before moving in together.
